The combination of loom and Jacquard machine is called Jacquard loom, which was invented in 1804 by Joseph Marie Jacquard. Working Process
In order to weave fabric on a loom, you need to pass a weft over and under warp, which is a set of threads. And what forms cloth is the interlacing of threads at right angles to each other. It is older that we pass weft over and under the warp threads to determine patterns that will be woven into the fabric.
The weaving process was slow before Jacquard loom was born. A draw boy should sit atop the loom, raising and lowering warp threads to create patterned, which takes too much time.
The invention of Jacquard took over the draw boy’s job successfully. The key to it is the use of interchangeable cards with instructions for weaving patterns on them, upon which there were small holes punched. Jacquard looms could reproduce any patterns in the high speed with punch cards, as well as replicate them again and again.
