Fabric cutting machine is mainly used in cutting fabric into different shapes according to operators’ cutting requirements. Due to the difference on the fabric shape such as fabric strips, fabric roll, those machines are also called in different names. For example : fabric strip cutting machine. There are 5 basic types of the tools that are used during fabric cutting process.
Cutting Table
It is a table shaped tool that is specifically used for designing, marking, fabric spreading and cutting for garment working operations.It has smooth and flat surface for a more convenient and gently push of cutting mechanisms.The blowing and suction device forms an air cushion between the bottom of the fabric layer and the table when blowing, which can reduce the feeding resistance of the cutting mechanisms; and forming a partial vacuum between the table and the top of the fabric layer, it help to compress the thickness of the fabric layer, and makes the whole cutting operation more convenient and ensures the quality of fabric piece. Its feet usually are made by metal for a adjustable height and high stability guarantee.
Straight Knife Machine
Straight knife cutting machine is also called electric scissors. It can be categorized as the machine that cuts fabric materials by using a straight knife slice, which is the most widely used fabric cutting equipment in garment production line. The working principle of it is to use crank-slider mechanism to achieve the cutting movement of the upper and lower cutting parts. The blade height is about 102~330mm and commonly the cutting edge line is straight but some of them are also designed in a corrugated line, especially be used for cutting fabric in thicker shape. In order to adapt to new types of sewing material, straight-knife cutting machines have developed new models such as two-speed model and adjustable speed model.
Round Knife Machine
This is a kind of machine for cutting sewing materials with a circular shaped knife. Realizing the one-direction rotary cutting of the circle shaped cutting blade through the worm & the worm gear pair or the upper gear pair’s variable speed transmission. It is usually circle or regular polygon shaped with different diameter selection of the blade edge. Generally, circle shaped knives are for cutting soft materials and the polygon shaped are used to cut the materials that are always thicker then common materials. It is no need for operators to press the fabric materials during cutting because of a component force on the sewing materials at the cutting point of the circular blade, which points to the tabletop. However, when cutting stacks of fabric materials, this kind of machine can only cut materials in a straight line to ensure the consistence of the first layer and the last layer, since the different contact point of each layer and the different vertical line of the circular blade is at every moment.
Automatic Cutting Machine
It is also called computer cutting machine because it is controlled automatically by computer. It drives the cutting head part to move along the Cartesian coordinate axis according to the program and cooperated with the upward and downward movement of the blade on the cutting head part to achieve the fabric cutting. It is a fabric cutting equipment that characterized by high efficiency and vacuuming method during cutting process. So that the fabric can be tightly adsorbed on the table, for preventing the movement of the module and reducing the thickness of the stack, which also ensuring a accurate cutting. Generally, it has two kinds of cutting heads, one is the mechanical cutting heads and other one is laser cutting heads, most of them are equipped with mechanical cutting heads for achieving high speed cutting by using hard and sharp straight blades moving up and down fast. The laser cutting head is suitable for cutting complex shape fabric or for high precision cutting and the fabric thickness is much lower than the materials that cut by mechanical cutting heads.
