In the field of aerospace, sports equipment, industry, and firefighting, carbon fiber cloth is a type of reinforced material woven from carbon fiber sheet. SUNTECH is possible to provide high quality carbon fiber rapier loom.

This material has the characteristics of high strength, light weight, corrosion resistance, and durability. It is widely used in the fields of aerospace, sports equipment, industry, and firefighting. Ordinary looms may be minimally adapted to weave conventional carbon fiber fabric when using small-width carbon fiber sheets as warp and weft to weave carbon fiber cloth, such as 5mm wide 12K carbon fiber bundles, to weave carbon fiber cloth.

Alternatively, for carbon fiber sheets with a wide width used as warp and weft threads in the weaving of carbon fiber fabric (for example, 12K carbon fiber bundles are thinly stacked to make 20mm carbon fiber sheets), 12K carbon fiber bundles are thinly layered to form 20mm carbon fiber sheets.

The main reason why the existing loom cannot weave a large-width carbon fiber sheet is that when weaving is carried out on the existing loom, after the weft is introduced into the shed, it is a beating motion, which means that the weft sheet introduced into the shed is pushed to the weaving loom, resulting in the formation of the fabric.

Because of the beating-up action, the large-width carbon fiber sheet will be beaten into a small-width carbon fiber sheet, which will not be able to match the weaving criteria of the large-width carbon fiber sheet as originally intended. Aside from that, the present looms for weaving carbon fiber fabric still have the following drawbacks:

1) At the moment, looms are typically driven by ac asynchronous motors, with power transmitted to each moving part through mechanisms such as belt drive pairs, connecting rods, and cams. This transmission mechanism is more complicated, and control is inconvenient, and accounts for about a third of the total cost of ownership. The land is really huge.

2) The weft yarn material of the loom is fine thread, whether it is made of chemical fiber or cotton spinning, and it is simply the weft insertion mechanism that is required during the weaving process. The weft thread may be inserted into the shed created by the warp thread. Because carbon fiber sheets have a sheet-like structure, when carbon fiber sheets are used as weft and warp yarns to manufacture carbon fiber cloth, the structure of the weft material is extremely different from the structure of ordinary textiles, as shown in the figure below.

Only the use of a weft insertion device can ensure the success of each and every weft insertion attempt. The weft yarn piece must be in a specified spatial location before each weft insertion, and the weft yarn piece must also be in a horizontal condition in order to assure effective weft insertion.

3) Because of the low abrasion resistance of carbon fiber material, weft insertion devices can only use rigid arrow bar weft insertion mechanisms. However, traditional rigid arrow bar weft insertion mechanisms generally use eccentric link type or conjugated cam type structures, and this structure is not suitable for carbon fiber material. It is more difficult, hard to regulate, and has a lower level of dependability in weft insertion than the previous method.

Existing looms are designed and developed for the situation where weft yarn is thin wire, and the cutter for cutting weft yarn is very simple, similar to the principle of household scissors; however, carbon fiber sheet is the weft yarn material with a specific width, and in weft insertion, carbon fiber sheet is used as a weft yarn material with a specific width.
